Chelsea FC finally achieved their dream of a place in the UEFA Champions League final by overcoming Liverpool FC on a night that resonated with high drama and heartfelt emotion. They were taken to extra time, where Didier Drogba scored his second goal after Frank Lampard, making his return to the side following the untimely death of his mother, had swung the tie back Chelsea's way from the penalty spot.
High drama
It made it all the more sweet that victory came at the expense of a Liverpool team who had proved their nemesis at this stage on two occasions in the previous three seasons and who drew level at 1-1 through Fernando Torres in the 64th minute. Having dispatched one English rival, Avram Grant's men will take on another in Moscow on 21 May where Manchester United FC await. The two clubs are virtually neck-and-neck in the race for the Premier League; now they will dispute superiority on Europe's grandest stage as well.
Chelsea charge
Despite the boost given them by John Arne Riise's last-gasp own goal in the first leg, Chelsea were clearly not interested in sitting on their advantage. After a day of incessant rain the surface proved troublesome, although Chelsea kept their feet better and their passes were more assured – Drogba stepping away from Jamie Carragher to unleash a powerful drive that Pepe Reina pushed away. Liverpool's first foray sparked a counterattack in which Yossi Benayoun found Steven Gerrard to set Torres clear, yet Petr Čech was swiftly out to make a smothering save.
Drogba breakthrough
The hosts continued to control proceedings and Reina was forced to sprint off his line to thwart Drogba, before being left exposed by Lampard's through pass only for the the Ivorian to drag his low shot beyond the far post. Liverpool's cause was scarcely helped when Martin Škrtel hobbled off to be replaced by Sami Hyypiä. The visitors looked vulnerable and it was no surprise when Chelsea went ahead. Salomon Kalou stretched the defence down the left and forced Reina into a flying save; Drogba was first on the scene and rifled an unstoppable drive in at the near post.
Torres response
The balance of the game changed perceptibly at the start of the second period as Liverpool suddenly began to push forward and only Čech's outstretched left leg kept Chelsea's lead intact. From a well-worked free-kick, Gerrard nodded on and Dirk Kuyt's flick was heading in before the goalkeeper intervened. Chelsea prepared for the expected onslaught yet came unstuck four minutes past the hour. Benayoun's driving run took him away from four defenders, resulting in a prodded pass through to Torres whose instant low shot found the bottom corner.
Extra-time excitement
Torres almost worked another scoring opportunity as Liverpool sought to exploit their advantage although Michael Essien came closest to averting extra time, shooting into the side-netting from an acute angle. The additional 30 minutes got under way at breathless pace, Hyypiä heading wide before Essien had a goal ruled out for offside by a team-mate. When Hyypiä's lunge felled Ballack in the 98th minute the referee immediately pointed to the spot and Lampard coolly converted, then broke down in tears amid a huddle of jubilant colleagues. Drogba seemed to have put the issue beyond doubt when he expertly turned in Nicolas Anelka's low centre in the 105th minute and, although Ryan Babel gave Liverpool late hope, the London club held firm to spark wild celebrations.

The Jerangkang Falls can be reached from the KL-Kuantan road. About 30 km after passing Maran, turn left at a signboard 'Hutan Lipur Jerangkang'.
The road leads through rubber plantations and passes under the new KL-Kuantan Highway.
For the last part a 4WD is needed, but that may change as work is in progress on the access road.
Transport to the falls can be arranged from a nearby kampung.

A pioneering study of life recorded in giant sinkholes that extend far below sea level has shown scientists the catastrophic impact that ancient communities had on their environments.

By swimming down into “blue holes” - vertical caves in the landscape - scientists can travel back in time, exploring a treasure trove of fossils and gaining a new understanding of the prehistoric ecosystem.
The holes are so named because of the dramatic contrast between the dark blue saltwater of their depths and the lighter blue of the freshwater shallows around them. The holes, such as the Great Blue Hole at Lighthouse Reef Atoll, Belize, can sink to depths of more than 650ft and are typically found in the Caribbean on the Bahama Banks, as well as on and around the Yucatán Peninsula.
Expert divers and scientists recently carried out the first sophisticated excavation on a hole in the Bahamas, which provided a rare glimpse of life before humans arrived. The cave on Great Abaco Island, known as Sawmill Sink, contains a host of well-preserved fossils, many from species that are now extinct. These include the first entire skeletons found in the West Indies of a 2,500-year-old tortoise and an unusual crocodile that roamed the land, along with bones from a lizard, snakes, bats and 25 species of birds, not to mention abundant plant fossils. Diver Brian Kakuk, a consultant for the Bahamas National Museum, discovered the first Sawmill Sink fossil - the giant tortoise shell, which was in excellent condition.
But long before tourists arrived in the Bahamas, ancient humans had taken up residence on this archipelago off the coast of Florida. The subsequent disappearance of species from the fossil record offers stark evidence that the arrival of humans permanently changed - and eliminated - life on what had been isolated islands.
The climate and the environmental conditions back then weren’t much different from those of today,” explains David Steadman, who works at the Florida Museum of Natural History. “The big difference is us. When people got to the island, there was probably nothing easier to hunt than tortoises, so they cooked and ate them. And they got rid of the crocodiles, probably because it’s tough to have kids playing at the edge of a village where there are terrestrial crocodiles running around.”
Radiocarbon analysis dates the human bones - the most recent discovery is a tibia - found at Sawmill Sink at between 1,000 and 4,200 years old. The fossils are the best?preserved of any found in the Bahamas, because the deep saltwater layer of the sinkhole contains no oxygen, which would normally feed the bacteria and fungi that cause bones to decay.
“The fossils from Sawmill Sink open unparalleled opportunities for much more sophisticated work than ever in reconstructing the ancient plant and animal communities,” Steadman says. “They help us to understand not only how individual species evolve on islands but also how these communities changed with the arrival of people, because we know that changes in the ecosystem are much more dramatic on islands than on continents.”
The fossil site is especially valuable because of the presence of fossilised plants as well as animals: leaves, twigs, flowers, fruits, seeds, pollen and spores. For example, the bracken ferns suggest that the island once boasted a regenerative, fire-swept landscape of open grasslands. “For the first time in the West Indies, we have plant fossils right in with the vertebrates, so we can reconstruct the habitats in a much more sophisticated way,” says Steadman.
Other blue holes could yield further palaeontological and archaeological riches. Admittedly, exploring them is hazardous: depth, tight spaces, vision-clouding particles and toxic layers of hydrogen sulphide can make the sinkholes dark and dangerous places to dive. But that won’t put off the scientists for long.

The Jerangkang Falls can be reached from the KL-Kuantan road. About 30 km after passing Maran, turn left at a signboard 'Hutan Lipur Jerangkang'.
The road leads through rubber plantations and passes under the new KL-Kuantan Highway.
For the last part a 4WD is needed, but that may change as work is in progress on the access road.
Transport to the falls can be arranged from a nearby kampung.

Disk Knight: a new virus “protection” program
UPDATE:
After having several thousand people visit my blog, obviously because Disk Knight is pissing them off, I thought it might be nice to post some step-by-step instructions on how to rid yourself of this nuisance. Follow these instructions at your own risk.
These instructions courtesy Precise Security:
1. Temporarily Disable USB Drive to autorun (Windows XP):
a. Open Windows Explorer or press the Windows + “e” key.
b. Right-click the drive of the USB Drive. Then select Properties. Drive Properties will appear.
c. Select the AutoPlay tab.
d. Choose Select an Action to Perform
e. At the bottom of the selection, click Take no Action, then click Apply.
f. Click OK to exit Drive Properties.
2. Show Hidden Files
a. Open Windows Explorer
b. Go to Tools > Options
c. On View tab, mark Checked the “Show Hidden Files and Folders and “Hide Protected OPerating System Files” Unchecked.
3. Delete the files manually
a. Go the USB Drive and delete autorun.inf
b. Go to C: Drive and delete autorun.inf
c. Go to C:\Windows and delete Disk Knight.exe
4. Modify Windows Registry
a. Go to Start > Run then type regedit
b. On Registry Editor, go to Edit > Find and type “knight”
c. Delete all entries it found.
5. Connect to Internet and update your AntiVirus
6. Reboot your computer in SafeMode
a. During BootUp process Press F8 continuously until selection appears
b. Use Arrow Up+Down to select SafeMode on the selections menu.
c. Hit Enter to proceed.
7. Scan your computer with an updated AntiVirus and delete all infections it founds.
Note: You may enable autorun of the USB Drive by reversing the process in Step 1.

APABILA menghayati seni kata yang ditulis oleh Loloq, sering kali kita akan menemui perkataan baru yang kadang-kadang tidak pernah kita dengar. Itulah kelebihan dan keistimewaan Loloq atau nama sebenarnya Rosli Khamis ketika berkarya yang agak 'gila-gila' apabila menggunakan bahasa.
Pelbagai kamus tidak pernah lekang daripada dirinya ketika menulis seni kata. Bahkan, dia mempunyai himpunan buku daripada pelbagai genre untuk dijadikan sumber ilhamnya. Loloq pernah berkata, dia tidak terlalu berkira membelanjakan sejumlah wang semata-mata membeli buku yang berkaitan dengan keagamaan, biografi, sejarah, kebudayaan dan bahasa.
Mungkin tidak ramai yang tahu selain menggunakan nama Loloq, dia juga turut menggunakan nama pena Nurbisa pada seni kata lagu tulisannya.
Loloq dan M Nasir cukup sebati. Justeru dia menyertai Luncai Emas milik Nasir sejak tahun 1990 sebagai penulis lirik eksekutif. Malahan, M Nasir dikatakan orang yang bertanggungjawab membawa Loloq ke dunia seni. Justeru, tidak hairanlah banyak seni kata tulisannya dinyanyikan oleh M Nasir seperti Keroncong Nostradamus, Apokalips dan Insan & Manikam, manakala seni kata terakhirnya ialah Cinta Adam & Hawa nyanyian Misha Omar.
Dia juga ialah penulis lirik Ratnaku nyanyian Roy, Di Kala Asmara Lepaskan Layarnya (Aris Ariwatan), Mentera Semerah Padi (M Nasir), Layar Impian (Ella) dan Ana Pertama Timur (Search).
Loloq dikatakan sudah menulis lebih 1,000 seni kata. Antara seni kata tulisannya yang dianggap hebat ialah Ghazal Untuk Rabiah, Andalusia, Kias Fansuri dan Cinta Sakti. Pada tahun 1991, seni kata tulisannya Everlasting Glory nyanyian Hattan dilarang daripada disiarkan oleh radio RTM.
Dia pernah mengeluarkan kenyataan yang menimbulkan kontroversi apabila mendakwa kamus Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka (DBP) sebagai tidak laku. Isunya apabila Loloq menggunakan perkataan Syuga dalam album terbaru Ella iaitu Ella - USA. Perkataan Syuga tidak ditemui dalam kamus DBP. Sebaliknya, Loloq dituduh mengambil perkataan syuga daripada buku Madame D'Syuga yang memaparkan gambar telanjang Ratni Sari Dewi Sukarno, tetapi dia menafikannya.
Loloq berasal dari Singapura. Bapanya, Rosli Dayut berasal dari Masjid Tanah, Melaka adalah bekas polis Tanah Melayu. Ibunya, Maimunah adalah Cina mualaf.
Menurut Loloq yang pernah ditemui penulis pada tahun 1999, setiap buku yang dibelinya bukan untuk hiasan semata-mata. Hampir semua buku habis dibacanya.
"Kalau ada buku yang menarik, saya akan baca berulang kali. Kadang-kadang sampai tiga atau lima kali. Bahkan sebelum tidur, ada 20 buku di sebelah saya," jelasnya yang turut menyediakan sedikit peruntukan untuk membeli majalah bagi keperluan isterinya.
Dia mengaku, keasyikannya terhadap buku menyebabkan dia `pernah lupa' pada anak dan isterinya, Hairiah Yaakob. Ketika itu kami mula-mula kahwin. Rasanya dia tahu tabiat saya yang suka membaca. Saya pula ambil kesempatan sehingga dia merajuk. Sekarang cara saya membaca kenalah tukar. Asalkan isteri tidak merajuk, sudahlah," kata Loloq sambil ketawa.
Hasil perkahwinannya dengan Hairiah, Loloq dikurniakan tiga anak iaitu Krsty Nur, 10, Jaevn Nur (7) dan Yasha Nur (5). "Nama anak saya memang agak pelik bunyinya. Krsty bermaksud rahsia, manakala Jaevn sebenarnya bermaksud Jawa. Jawa ini pula kalau dihalusi berasal dari kaum Nabi Noh," katanya.
Loloq dikatakan memiliki ratusan buku yang mengandungi pelbagai tajuk. Ini termasuk tajuk yang berkaitan dengan ekonomi, pengurusan, politik, falsafah, keagamaan, perfileman, kesusasteraan, biografi dan pengetahuan am serta novel. Salah satu rak yang terletak di ruang tamunya, tersusun buku The Life Muhammad karya Hamka, Biografi Nelson Mandela, The Arabian Nights, Quantum Leanings, Saince of Politics, How To Argue And Win Every Time, History of Films, A History of the Jews dan banyak lagi.
Penulis lirik ini juga pernah mengaku mempunyai minat mendalam terhadap bahasa Melayu yang dianggapnya sebagai satu bahasa agung pada zaman kegemilangan raja Melayu. "Saya kagum dengan Hang Tuah yang boleh bertutur 10 bahasa. Begitu juga dengan nama Tun Sri Lanang. Setiap perkataan itu ada maknanya sendiri. Tun bermakna tuan, Sri bermakna bercahaya dan lanang adalah lelaki. Begitulah tingginya orang Melayu dulu apabila berkias.
"Sebab itu apabila saya guna perkataan yang lain dari kebiasaan, banyak yang berasa pelik. Sebenarnya, setiap perkataan yang saya pilih masih berbahasa Melayu. Misalnya, lagu Berikanku Nurbisa. Nurbisa itu dalam bahasa Melayu bermakna penawar segala penyakit," jelasnya lagi.
Loloq adalah satu yang diperoleh secara tidak sengaja."Apabila Jalil Ngah hendak terbitkan kulit album, dia tanya Loloq boleh. Saya kata
bolehlah...," katanya yang pernah menjadi penyanyi kumpulan Rastari pada awal tahun 90-an. "Satu kepuasan saya ialah apabila berjaya membuatkan kumpulan rock membuka kamus bahasa Melayu," katanya.
Selain hebat menulis seni kata lagu, Loloq juga dilihat hebat dalam bakat lakonannya. Antara filem yang pernah dibintanginya seperti Sara, Embun, Lang Buana, Zombie Kampung Pisang dan Man Laksa. Beliau juga pernah beraksi di pentas teater suatu masa dulu dalam persembahan teater Bukit Kepong arahan Othman Ghani dan drama sitcom Awie Record.
Semasa hayatnya beliau pernah dikurniakan beberapa anugerah seperti penulis lirik terunggul dan menerima royalti tertinggi daripada Badan Perlindungan Hak Cipta Karyawan Muzik Malaysia Berhad (MACP) ke-11 menerusi lagu Dewa Dewi nyanyian kumpulan Spider menjulang namanya sebagai Penulis Lirik Terunggul lima tahun berturut-turut.
Selain itu, Anugerah Lirik Nasyid pada majlis Anugerah Juara Nasyid Minggu Ini 2006 serta Anugerah Galakkan Penulis Lirik pada Anugerah Citra Wangsa Malaysia 2005. Beliau juga turut terbabit dalam menulis skrip filem Aduh Saliha yang judul asalnya ialah Misteri Mimpi Syakila arahan M Nasir. Bagaimanapun, filem itu tidak dapat disiapkan sehingga sekarang.
Loloq meninggal dunia Hospital Pakar Damansara, kira-kira jam 1.37 tengah hari kelmarin selepas dimasuk ke Unit Rawatan Rapi (ICU) sejak Ahad lalu kerana dipercayai berlaku pendarahan di kepalanya.

Today is the first day of Ramadhan.The time moves so fast that the last Ramadhan was just like last month.hm..do you guys goes to Terawih prayer? sebenarnya banyak fadhilat2nya melakukan sembahyang Terawih even its sunat.here is the fadhilat2 and kelebihan sembahyang terawih.
Malam pertama: Keluar dosa-dosa orang mukmin pada malam pertama sepertimana ia baru dilahirkan, mendapat keampunan daripada Allah.
Malam kedua: Diampunkan dosa-dosa orang mukmin yang sembahyang terawih serta kedua ibu bapanya (sekiranya mereka orang yang beriman).
Malam ketiga: Berseru malaikat di bawah arasy supaya kami meneruskan sembahyang terawih terus menerus semoga Allah mengampunkan dosa engkau.
Malam keempat: Memperoleh pahala ia sebagaimana pahala orang- orang yang membaca kitab-kitab Taurat, Injil, Zabur dan Al-Quran.
Malam kelima: Allah kurniakan baginya pahala seumpama orang sembahyang di Masjidil Haram, Masjid Madinah dan Masjidil Aqsa.
Malam keenam: Allah kurniakan pahala kepadanya pahala malaikat- malaikat yang tawaf di Baitul Makmur (70,000 malaikat sekali tawaf), serta setiap batu-batu dan tanah-tanah mendoakan supaya Allah mengampunkan dosa orang yang mengerjakan sembahyang terawih pada malam ini.
Malam ketujuh: Seolah-olah ia dapat bertemu dengan Nabi Musa serta menolong Nabi a.s. menentang musuh ketatnya Firaun dan Hamam.
Malam kelapan: Allah mengurniakan pahala orang sembahyang terawih sepertimana yang telah dikurniakan kepada Nabi Ibrahim a.s.
Malam kesembilan: Allah kurniakan pahala dan dinaikkan mutu ibadat hambanya seperti Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.
Malam 10: Allah s.w.t. mengurniakan kepadanya kebaikan di dunia dan di akhirat.
Malam 11: Keluar ia daripada dunia (mati) bersih daripada dosa seperti ia baru dilahirkan.
Malam 12: Datang ia pada hari kiamat dengan muka yang bercahaya (cahaya ibadatnya).
Malam 13: Datang ia pada hari kiamat dalam aman sentosa daripada tiap-tiap kejahatan dan keburukan.
Malam 14: Datang malaikat menyaksikan ia bersembahyang terawih, serta Allah tiada menyesatkannya pada hari kiamat.
Malam 15: Semua malaikat yang menanggung arasy, kursi, berselawat dan mendoakannya supaya Allah mengampunkannya.
Malam 16: Allah s.w.t. tuliskan baginya terlepas daripada neraka dan dimasukkan ke dalam syurga.
Malam 17: Allah kurniakan orang yang berterawih pahalanya pada malam ini sebanyak-banyak pahala Nabi-nabi.
Malam 18: Seru malaikat: Hai hamba Allah! Sesungguhnya Allah telah redha kepada engkau dan ibu bapa engkau (yang masih hidup atau mati).
Malam 19: Allah s.w.t. tinggikan darjatnya di dalam syurga Firdaus.
Malam 20: Allah kurniakan kepadanya pahala sekelian orang yang mati syahid dan orang-orang solihin.
Malam 21: Allah binakan sebuah istana di dalam syurga daripada Nur.
Malam 22: Datang ia pada hari kiamat aman daripada tiap-tiap dukacita dan kerisauan (tiada dalam keadaan huru-hara di padang Mahsyar)
Malam 23: Allah s.w.t. binakan kepadanya sebuah bandar di dalam syurga daripada Nur.
Malam 24: Allah buka peluang dua puluh empat doa yang mustajab bagi orang yang berterawih pada malam ini (elok sekali berdoa ketika dalam sujud).
Malam 25: Allah Ta'ala angkatkan daripadanya siksa kubur.
Malam 26: Allah kurniakan kepada orang berterawih pahala pada malam ini seumpama empat puluh tahun ibadat.
Malam 27: Allah kurniakan kepada orang berterawih pada malam ini ketangkasan melintas atas titian Siratal
Mustaqim seperti kilat menyambar.
Malam 28: Allah s.w.t. kurniakan kepadanya seribu darjat di akhirat.
Malam 29: Allah s.w.t. kurniakan kepadanya pahala seribu kali haji yang mabrur.
Malam 30: Allah s.w.t. beri penghormatan pada orang berterawih pada malam terakhir ini yang teristimewa sekali, lalu berfirman yang bermaksud: Hai hambaKu! Makanlah segala jenis buah-buahan yang engkau ingin makan di dalam syurga dan mandilah engkau daripada air syurga yang bernama Salsabila, serta minumlah air daripada telaga yang dikurniakan kepada Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. yang bernama Al-Kauthar.
* selain daripada fadhilat-fadhilat yang tersebut di atas, terdapat pelbagai lagi fadhilat dan keutamaan solat terawih atau Qiam Ramadhan ini sebagaimana yang disebutkan di dalam hadis-hadis Rasulullah S.A.W.
PERKARA-PERKARA SUNAT DI BULAN RAMADHAN
1. Menyegerakan berbuka puasa
2. Berdoa ketika berbuka puasa
3. Bersahur dan melewatkan waktunya
4. Memperbanyakkan sedekah dan berbuat kebajikan
5. Meninggalkan perkara keji dan mungkar
6. Memperbanyakkan membaca Al-Quran dan menuntut ilmu
7. Menghidupkan malam Ramadhan dan mendirikan solat Terawikh
8. Memperbanyakkan berdoa kepada Allah SWT
9. Meningkatkan ibadah pada 10 malam terakhir Ramadhan
10. Iktikaf di masjid
yang baik itu datangnya dari Allah S.W.T dan yang buruk itu datang dari kelemahan saya sendiri... Salam...

Amalan di bulan Ramadan
1.
Apakah kelebihan-kelebihan pada bulan Ramadan?
Bulan Ramadan mempunyai banyak kelebihan yang jika dihitung, maka ia akan menjadi senarai yang amat panjang. Antaranya adalah setiap amalan soleh dalam bulan ini digandakan pahalanya berlipat kali ganda. Bulan ini juga merupakan bulan di mana para Syaitan diikat oleh Allah s.w.t, pintu-pintu Syurga dibuka dan pintu-pintu Neraka ditutup. Bulan ini juga merupakan bulan latihan untuk bersabar dan mengingatkan kita akan kesusahan mereka yang kekurangan makan dan minum. Ia juga bulan Al-Quran dimana Al-Quran diturunkan dalamnya, dan mempunyai satu malam yang lebih baik dari 1000 bulan.
Amat rugilah mereka yang tidak mengambil manfaat dari bulan ini.

Apakah cara terbaik untuk saya menghayati bulan Ramadan dan menambah amalan di dalamnya?
Firman Allah S.W.T. dalam Surah Al- Baqarah ayat 185 yang bermaksud: “Bulan Ramadan diturunkan padanya Al Quran, sebagai petunjuk bagi manusia dan penjelasan-penjelasan mengenai petunjuk itu dan pembeza (di antara yang hak dan yang batil).” Sesuai dengan bulan Al-Qur’an ini, maka penghayatannya melibatkan tiga cara: 1. Berusaha membanyakkan amal baik dengan tujuan mengukuhkan keimanan dan mendapat keredhaan Allah S.W.T. 2. Mempertingkatkan ilmu, melalui pembacaan dan pengkajian Al-Quran, serta mempelajari sejarah Baginda Rasulullah S.A.W. 3. Menghayati nilai murni yang ditunjukkan dalam Al-Qur’an, terutama dari sudut akhlak. Tingkah laku kita sebagai orang yang beriman harus mencerminkan akhlah mulia yang diajar dalam kitab tersebut. Penghayatan bulan Ramadan danAl-Qur’an tidak terbatas dalam lingkungan solat dan puasa secara ritual sahaja. Malah, lebih dari itu, kita mesti menghayatinya dalam setiap aspek kehidupan seharian kita dan melahirkannya dalam tingkah laku, pertuturan dan gerak hati .

Bilakah Lailat-ul-Qadr?
Tidak ada sesiapa yang boleh memastikan bilakah Lailat-ul-Qadr itu akan datang. Terdapat ramai ulama yang berpendapat bahawa ia jatuh pada malam 27 Ramadan. Akan tetapi, ia hanyalah satu ramalan dan bukanlah sesuatu yang pasti. Ini kerana ia sebenarnya boleh jatuh dimana-mana malam dari malam Ramadan yang pertama hinggalah malam yang terakhir. Juga tiada ayat Qur’an atau Hadith yang sahih yang mengatakan tentang bila sebenarnya Lailat-ul-Qadr.

Apa hukumnya solat tarawih?
Solat tarawih adalah sunnah yang sangat digalakkan pada malam-malam Ramadan. Ia adalah ibadat khusus di dalam bulan Ramadan, dan tidak dilakukan pada bulan-bulan lain.

Apakah kelebihan Solat Tarawih?
Solat Tarawih mempunyai banyak kelebihan kerana ia adalah ibadat solat yang dilakukan oleh Rasulullah s.a.w dan para sahabatnya.
Namun, Rasulullah s.a.w tidak menyatakan fadilatnya yang khusus. Baginda juga tidak menyatakan fadilat solat Tarawih bagi setiap malam. Apa yang tersebar dari fadilat solat Tarawih bagi setiap malam yang berbeza, itu bukan hadith Rasulullah s.a.w, tetapi ciptaan manusia yang tidak berasaskan Al-Quran dan Hadith.

Bagaimanakah caranya menunaikan solat terawih?
Solat terawih adalah sangat digalakkan pada malam-malam Ramadan. Ia adalah ibadat khusus di dalam bulan Ramadan, dan tidak dilakukan pada bulan-bulan lain.Masanya adalah setelah seseorang itu mengerjakan solat fardu Isyak. Afdal (utama) dikerjakan berjemaah di masjid. Namun, boleh dikerjakan bersendirian juga.Solat terawih boleh dilaksanakan sebanyak 8 rakaat, 20 rakaat atau 36 rakaat, setiap 2 rakaat dengan satu salam. Cara menunaikannya adalah sama seperti solat sunat biasa (seperti sunat qabliyah (sebelum) atau ba’diyah (selepas) bagi solat fardhu lima waktu).
Menurut hadis Imam Al-Bukhari dan Muslim dari Abu Hurairah R.A. maksudnya: "Adalah Rasulullah S.A.W. sangat sukacita menganjurkannya supaya beramal di malam-malam bulan Ramadan, hanya Baginda itu tidak menganjurkannya dengan keras. Baginda S.A.W. bersabda: "Sesiapa yang menunaikan ibadat solat pada malam-malam bulan Ramadan dengan penuh keimanan dan semata-mata kerana Allah S.W.T., nescaya diampunkan oleh Allah dosa-dosanya yang lalu."

Bagaimana saya boleh mengerjakan solat witir?
Witir bermakna angka yang ganjil. Solat witir boleh dikerjakan pada tiap-tiap malam dan yang lebih afdal adalah pada bulan Ramadan, samada bersendirian atau berjemaah. Solat ini dikerjakan sekurang-kurangnya 1 rakaat dan boleh dikerjakan 3 rakaat, 5 rakaat, 7 rakaat, 9 rakaat dan sebanyak 11 rakaat. Imam Abu Daud dan an-Nasa'i telah meriwayatkan sebuah hadis dari Abu Ayyub yang maksudnya: "Rasulullah SAW pernah bersabda" Solat witir itu adalah benar. Siapa yang suka mengerjakannya lima rakaat, kerjakanlah. Siapa yang suka mengerjakannya tiga rakaat kerjakanlah, dan siapa yang suka mengerjakannya satu rakaat sahaja pun, kerjakanlah." Niat witir dua rakaat di dalam jemaah adalah seperti: "Sahaja aku solat witir dua rakaat menjadi makmum kerana Allah ta’ala." Niat witir satu rakaat pula di dalam jemaah adalah seperti: "Sahaja aku solat witir satu rakaat menjadi makmum kerana Allah

Bolehkah seseorang itu bangun malam dan bersolat witir sekali lagi walaupun sudah melakukannya di masjid?
Solat witir boleh dilaksanakan dari 1 sehingga 11 rakaat. Ia dilaksanakan selepas solat terawih di kebanyakan masjid untuk menutup tirai solat di waktu malam di dalam bulan Ramadan. Oleh yang demikian, sekiranya seseorang itu telah menunaikan solat witir sebanyak 3 rakaat selepas terawih dan kemudian bangun di waktu malam menunaikan solat tahajjud, ia boleh menunaikan solat witir sebagai penambahan bagi 3 rakaat yang dilaksanakan selepas terawih. Caranya adalah dengan hanya bersolat 2, 4, 6, atau 8 rakaat dengan niat “Sahaja aku dirikan 2 rakaat dari solat sunat witir kerana Allah ta’ala.” Dengan demikian, ia tidak dikira mendirikan 2 witir pada satu malam kerana Baginda Rasulullah s.a.w. bersabda yang bermaksud: "Tidak ada dua witir pada satu malam."

Beberapa hari lagi kita akan menyambut Ramadhan. Hayya Ya Ramadhan. Di sisi Allah Puasa Ramadhan merupakan suatu ibadah yang begitu istimewa sehinggakan nilaian ganjarannya ditentukan olehNya mengikut kehendaknya tidak sama dengan amalan ibadah yang lain. Abu Hurairah RA berkata Nabi SAW bersabda: ِAllah berfirman:
كل عملابن ادم له الا الصيام فانه لي وانا اجزي به والصيام جنة
(Kullu ‘amalibni A-dam lahu illas siyam, fainnahu li wa ana ajzee bihiwas siyaamu junnatun) yang bermaksud: Semua amalan anak Adam adalah untuk dirinya kecuali puasa, maka sesungguhnya Puasa adalah untukKu dan Aku sendiri yang akan membalasnya. Dan puasa itu suatu perisai…. (Hadis Riwayat Bukhari dan Muslim)
Mungkin ada orang berkata agak terlalu awal untuk berbicara pasal Ramadhon. Tidak! Tidak sama sekali bagi orang yang benar-benar beriman dan bertaqwa kerana mereka sentiasa menunggu setiap Ramadhon dengan penuh harapan dan kasih sayang. Meskipun hanya 2 minggu lagi saat ketibaan Ramadhon, kita tidak boleh terlalu yaqin yang kita akan bertemu dengan Ramadhon. Entah-entah nama kita tersenarai dalam mereka yang akan dipanggil oleh Allah. Ya Allah ketemukanlah kami dengan Ramadhon lagi, bulan yang penuh rahmat, maghfiroh dan bulan yang memberi peluang kepada kami untuk berdoa dibebaskan dari api neraka (’itqun minannar).
Dalam satu hadis lain dari Sahl bin Saad RA yang meriwayatkan Nabi SAW bersabda, “Sesungguhnya di syurga ada pintu masuk bernama Ar-Royyan, tempat masuk orang yang berpuasa…”
Sekiranya Ramadhon kali ini yang pertama bagi saudara baru (converts), inilah peluang untuk anda melatih diri berpuasa. Memang bulan Ramadhon merupakan bulan latihan/tarbiyyah bagi Muslim dengan harapan menjadi seorang yang bertaqwa. Tidak dinafikan setiap kita mempunyai kelemahan dan kita terpaksa melupakan amalan secawan kopi atau sepotong rokok di pagi hari ketika puasa bermakna meninggalkan atau mengurangkan pengambilan kafein atau nikotin. Alangkah baiknya kalau kita dapat meninggalkan terus pengambilan nikotin (rokok) hasil dari tuntutan Ramadhon meninggalkan yang haram atau paling tidaknya makruh tahrim (makruh yang dilarang). Ya…berpuasa dan meninggalkan menghisap rokok…boleh dijadikan sebagai azam berhijrah meninggalkan perkara yang telah diputuskan oleh Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan dan juga Majlis Fatwa Dunia-rokok adalah haram.
Bukanlah maksud saya untuk menjadi pemfatwa dengan nada ‘ha za halalun wa ha za haromun’ kerana saya bukan mufti tetapi lebih kepada melihat kedudukan amalan merokok yang tidak siapa yang menafikan ia suatu amalan yang tidak baik…

Malaya Independence
The effort for independence was spearheaded by Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, who led a delegation of ministers and political leaders of Malaya in negotiations with the British in London for Merdeka, or independence. Once it became increasingly clear that the Communist threat posed during the Malayan Emergency was petering out, agreement was reached on February 8, 1956, for Malaya to gain independence from the British Empire. However, for a number of logistical and administrative reasons, it was decided that the official proclamation of independence would only be made the next year, on August 31, 1957, at Stadium Merdeka (Independence Stadium), in Kuala Lumpur.
How the independence date was derived
Even before the delegation left for London, the date for independence was already set. It was decided during a discussion in 1956 involving UMNO Youth chief Tun Sardon Jubir and his deputy Haji Ahmad Badawi in Kepala Batas, Penang. Haji Ahmad Badawi is the late father of the current Prime Minister of Malaysia.Also present at the discussion was Haji Ahmad Badawi's father, Haji Abdullah Fahim, who was also the Penang Mufti and a renowned Muslim scholar. Analysing the independence dates of countries like Indonesia and India, all falling on odd dates in August, Haji Abdullah Fahim after conducting his own calculations decided August 31 as the most appropriate date [1].
The formation of Malaysia
Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj announced the independence of Malaya from the British on August 31 1957 at Stadium Merdeka.
Indonesia considered Malaysia as a new form of colonization on the provinces of Sarawak and Sabah in the island of Borneo (bordering Kalimantan, Indonesia), which they laid claim on. [citation needed] To assure Indonesia that Malaysia was not a form of neo-colonialism, a referendum, organized by the United Nations, and the Cobbold Commission, led by Lord Cobbold, were formed to determine whether the people of Sabah and Sarawak wished to join Malaysia. Their eventual findings which indicated substantial support for Malaysia among the peoples of Sabah and Sarawak, cleared the way for the final proclamation of Malaysia.
The formation of the Federation of Malaysia was then announced on September 16, 1963. However, the Independence Day celebration is still held on August 31, the original independence date of Malaya. This has caused some minor discontent among East Malaysians in particular since it has been argued that celebrating the national day on August 31 is too Malaya-centric. When Malaya celebrated its first Independence Day, new hotels were built everywhere in Kuala Lumpur to accommodate the huge foreign delegation invited by the Government of the Federation of Malaya to witness the historical day.

29th August 2007 – The Malaysia Under-23 team scored a perfect gift for the country’s 50th anniversary of Merdeka this year when they beat Myanmar 3-1 in the final of the 39th Merdeka Tournament tonight at the Stadium Shah Alam.
In front of more than 40,000 fans, the national Under-23 side under head coach B. Sathianathan grabbed the title with goals from Mohd Zaquan Adha Abdul Razak in the 12th minute, an own goal from Aung Myo Thant in the 56th minute and then from Mohd Safee Sali in the 60th minute for the well-deserved victory.
Myanmar’s only goal of the evening came off Tun Tun Win in the 73rd minute.
“I am very pleased with the players,”said Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah, the president of the FA of Malaysia (FAM) who was present at the match (pic) to present the USD 10,000 prize money to the winning team.
“Sathia will remain as the coach because the boys seem to like him where today, they went all out in the game and they truly deserved to win.
“For the upcoming FAM Congress, I hope that they will make sure that the right people will be put at the right place.”
With Malaysia’s last win of the Merdeka Tournament back in 1993, the Malaysian lads were full of vigour in the opening quarter as they pressed Myanmar into their own half.
In the 12th minute off a pass from Safee, strike mate Zaquan had only Myanmar keeper to beat before slotting home to give Malaysia the lead to rapturous delight.
The score at the break was 1-0 to Malaysia.
Myanmar did not have the best of start in the second half when in an attempt to make a clearance from an effort off Safee, they conceded an own goal in the 56th minute defender Aung Myo Thant turned the ball into his own net.
Malaysia then completed their win on the night four minutes later when off a pass from Amirulhadi Zainal, Safee blasted the ball home to put Malaysia in a comfortable position.
Tun Tun Win gave Myanmar a glimmer of hope when he scored in the 73rd minute from inside Malaysia’s penalty box but by then the game was already beyond contention.
As if to add insult to injury, Kyaw Khing Win was red carded two minutes to the end in a game which saw six yellow cards being flashed.
Despite the defeat tonight, Myanmar still walked away with the USD 5,000 prize money.

MALAYSIA IN FINAL
27th August 2007 – Malaysia exacted just revenge when they beat Singapore 3-1 in the semi-finals of the Merdeka Tournament tonight at the Stadium Shah Alam.
Striker Mohd Safee Sali, who was suspended in the team’s last match against Lesotho two days earlier, was in commanding form with two goals in the 17th and 76th minute with Mohd Khyril Muhymeen scoring the other goal in the 12th minute.
“It was a very tough game," said Malaysian head coach B. Sathianathan.
“They played using the flanks where the rain made the pitch very slippery. They were very dangerous in the set-pieces. But the two goals made the boys go for more.”
Khyril, who missed the penalty at the last Asean Football Championship semi-finals, gave Malaysia a dream start a well-taken free kick which took a wicked curve before swerving into the left of the Singapore goal.
Safee then gave Malaysia a 2-0 lead at the break when he took advantage of an out of position Singapore keeper Hassan Abdullah Sunny to slot Malaysia’s second goal before Agu Casmir gave Singapore a fighting change with a goal two minutes after the restart.
However, there was no denying Malaysia the win on the night when Safee beat Hassan in a one to one situation to put the game beyond contention.
ÏN THE MEANTIME in an earlier semi-final match, defending champion Myanmar beat Zimbabwe 3-1 to confirm their place in the final of the championship for the second time in two years.
Myanmar scorers were Yan Paing (32th and 58th minute) and Yazar Win Thein (88th minute) while the only goal from Zimbabwe came off Mutshumaveli Moyo in the 51st minute.
“The boys are mentally strong against very tough opponents,” added Myanmar head coach Marcos Falopa.
“It is not easy to play against African teams but they managed to play their normal game and control the match well.”
